Elizabeth Naylor has been a lifelong sailor and educator. Having grown up on the coast of Maine, she has strong ties to the ocean as a sailor, explorer, and boat builder. She started her career overseeing the sailing program at Alford Lake Camp in Hope, Maine. Since then, she has been a middle school teacher in the Whitman-Hanson School district and coached sailing at Notre Dame Academy in Hingham. Currently she is the Education and Outreach Coordinator at The Hull Lifesaving Museum. She is a graduate of Connecticut College and holds a masters degree in critical and creative thinking from the University of Massachusetts – Boston. Beyond being a passionate and creative educator, she is a member of our yacht club’s Rhodes 19 Fleet!
Alec Mulkern will be starting his freshman year of college in the fall. He began sailing at the Scituate Harbor Yacht Club when he was seven and in the last few summers has sailed with the Duxbury Bay Maritime School. Alec has experience in Vanguard Prams, Optis, 420s and FJs. He has raced in regattas throughout the South Shore and on Cape Cod. His very first 420 regatta was our very own Scorpion Bowl in 2012! In addition to Sailing, Alec enjoys playing the trumpet and piano, tennis and fishing!
Nate Thomas is finishing his junior year at Cohasset High School. Nate began sailing when he was 8 at the Cohasset Yacht Club. He sailed Optis and 420s and competed in Regattas on the North and South Shore. Nate has also coached sailing in Cohasset for two summers. Nate enjoys skiing when it is too cold for sailing and enjoys surfing in the summer. He will be completing his Level 1 sailing certification in June.
Jake Allen is finishing his junior year at BC High and lives in Cohasset. He began sailing at Cohasset Yacht Club when he was 9, and he has experience in both Optis and 420s. He has participated in regattas throughout the South Shore and in Marblehead, winning several in-club cups and awards at
