Elizabeth H. Naylor - Program Director
Elizabeth has been a lifelong sailor and educator. Having grown up on the coast of Maine, she has strong ties to the ocean as a sailor, explorer, and boat builder. She started her career overseeing the sailing program at Alford Lake Camp in Hope, Maine. Since then, she has been a middle school teacher in the Whitman-Hanson School district and coached sailing at Notre Dame Academy in Hingham. Currently she is the Education and Outreach Coordinator at The Hull Lifesaving Museum. She is a graduate of Connecticut College and holds a masters degree in critical and creative thinking from the University of Massachusetts – Boston. Beyond being a passionate and creative educator, she is a member of our yacht club’s Rhodes 19 Fleet!
Aram Donabed is from Westwood MA and learned to sail at Hull Yacht Club. Aram spent 8 years in our program and was a successful sailor in Optis and 420 garnering 3rd in the Jr Olympics Optis and many HYC awards in 420’s including the prestigious Coaches Award. Aram is completing his freshman year at Drexel University where he is studying Music Business. He has his US Sailing Level 1 certificate and is looking forward to returning this summer.
Courtney is finishing her senior year at Hingham High School, but has been a lifelong resident of Hull. SHe began her sailing career ten years ago in Optis and N10s at Town River Yacht Club. She quickly progressed to 420 sailing and won many T.R.Y.C. awards along the way. When the summer is over Courtney will begin her freshman year at Holy Cross in Worcester, Massachusetts. Courtney is US Sailing Level 1 certified and loves nothing more than spending a long day out on the water with her family.
Alec is finishing his junior year at Scituate High School. He began sailing at the Scituate Harbor Yacht Club when he was seven and in the last few summers has sailed with the Duxbury Bay Maritime School. Alec has experience in Vanguard Prams, Optis, 420s and FJs. He has raced in regattas throughout the South Shore and on Cape Cod. His very first 420 regatta was our very own Scorpion Bowl in 2012! In addition to Sailing, Alec enjoys playing the trumpet and piano, tennis and fishing! He will be completing this US Sailing Level 1 certificate this spring.
