Director of the Junior Sailing Program -  2024

The Hull Yacht Club is seeking a dynamic and experienced individual to join our team as the Director of the Junior Sailing Program. The ideal candidate will have a passion for sailing, a strong background in coaching and program management, and the ability to lead and inspire young sailors. This is a full-time, seasonal position responsible for overseeing and developing a comprehensive junior sailing program designed to educate, engage, and promote a love for sailing among young members of our community.

The Program Director works with the Junior Sail board to conduct the sailing program.

Direct Responsibilities:

  1. Coaching and Training: Hire and lead and supervise a team of sailing instructors and support staff, providing guidance, mentorship, and training to ensure a high level of instruction and program delivery.
  2. Safety and Compliance: Ensure all activities are conducted in accordance with safety guidelines and club policies, and maintain proper record-keeping of participant information, waivers, and medical forms.
  3. Parent and Member Communication: Foster strong relationships with parents and club members, providing regular updates on program activities, progress, and upcoming events.
  4. Equipment and Facility Management: Oversee the maintenance and care of sailing equipment, facilities, and boats to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all participants.
  5. Professional Development: Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in sailing instruction and youth development, and actively seek opportunities for personal and professional growth.

Collaborative Responsibilities:

  1. Program Development: Collaborate with the board to design and implement a comprehensive and progressive junior sailing curriculum that caters to sailors of all skill levels, ages, and abilities, with a focus on safety, fun, and skill development.
  2. Recruitment and Enrollment: Work with the board to develop and execute marketing and recruitment strategies to attract new participants to the junior sailing program while maintaining and fostering relationships with existing members.
  3. Event Planning: Work with the board to organize and oversee junior sailing events, regattas, races, and social activities, both locally and regionally, to provide valuable opportunities for skill development and camaraderie among junior sailors.

Launch Drivers for 2024 Season:

The Hull Yacht Club is currently looking for USCG licensed launch drivers for the 2024 season. The Hull Yacht Club has two inspected launches, carrying up to 26 passengers. We will be open from mid-May to mid-October, and our hours of operation are 8 AM - 9 PM. All candidates must be available for days, nights, weekends and holidays. Duties would include launch driving, cleanliness of launches and docks, and light maintenance around the clubhouse. You must be able to interact with members and guests, subject to random drug testing, and possess strong customer service skills. The Hull Yacht Club is located 20 miles south of Boston, and we currently have approximately 300 members.

Qualifications USCG Launch License

Compensation $17/hour plus tips
